Life Gauge

This shows your remaining life. It usually displays only when your life goes up or down. When it hits zero, the game is over.
- Your life gauge increases after defeating bosses.

Shows the weapon you have equipped (left).
Nothing will be displayed when no weapon is equipped (right).

Interpreting the Radar
Infiltration Mode

Center Dot | Solid Snake |
---|---|
Green Cone | The view from Solid Snake's perspective. |
Red Dot | Enemy/Camera |
Blue Cone | Enemy's field of view (normal). |
Red Cone | Enemy's field of view (investigating sounds). |
Yellow Cone | Surveillance camera's field of view. |
- Radar not available in small spaces or other areas with strong acoustic resonance.
Alert Mode
When the enemy spots you, the radar will shift to alert mode and go offline. Once you're out of enemy sight, a countdown begins. When it hits zero, you'll go into evasion mode.

Evasion Mode
In this mode, the enemy is actively searching for you. If they find you again, alert mode will activate. When the countdown reaches zero, you'll return to infiltration mode. The radar will be offline.

Electronic Jamming
Electronic jamming may affect your radar, along with surveillance cameras, remote-controlled missiles, and other electronic devices.

Other Gauges

Boss Life Gauge
- When a boss is present, their life gauge will be shown.

Hostage Life-Gauge
- When a hostage is present, their life gauge will be shown. If it hits zero, the game is over.

Ammo Gauge (Against Revolver Ocelot)
- Shows the amount of ammunition Revolver Ocelot has left in his weapon. When it reaches zero, he'll stop moving to reload.

O2 gauge
- A gauge showing your remaining oxygen. Appears when underwater or in a gas-filled room. When it runs out, you'll start losing life. Equip a gas mask in a gas-filled area to make this gauge go down more slowly.
