The following tips apply to EASY and NORMAL difficulty.

Cargo Dock

Narrow Spaces? Try Crawling!

If you can't walk through a narrow space, you may be able to get through by crawling.
Press the crawl button to crouch, then to get in a crawling position. Press the crawl button again to stand up.

Don't Leave Without Rations!

Snake is responsible for his own weapons and items while on solo infiltration missions. Items can be obtained from Item Boxes. All items obtainable in this area are rations—keep them equipped to automatically restore your life when it reaches zero. Take care to procure rations so you're ready when you need them.

Dive Away From Enemies!

In this area, enemies won't chase after you if you dive into the waters. While in alert mode or evasion mode, tilt in the direction of the ocean to dive in.

Watch Your Feet!

There are puddles of water all over the cargo dock area. Running over these puddles makes noise and draws enemy attention. Stay close to the walls or crawl over the puddles to avoid being detected.

Wait for the Elevator!

The objective in the cargo dock area is to reach the elevator without being spotted by the enemy; however, the elevator won't be accessible immediately. Stay hidden until it comes down to your level.

Check Your Radar!

The radar displays not only the enemies' position, but also their field of view. Refer to the radar and be careful to stay out of their sight. Staying out of sight allows you to sneak up on enemies from behind.

When in Doubt—Call!

If you're stuck, press and contact someone for help. The codec is a vital source of information for completing your missions. Choose your contacts according to the situation to proceed efficiently.

Heliports

Watch for Searchlights!

Item Boxes illuminated by searchlights contain chaff grenades, which can interfere with electronic equipment. Watch the searchlights' movement to take the Item Box without being seen.

Surveillance Cameras

The warehouse at the back is equipped with surveillance cameras and Item Boxes containing stun grenades. The cameras have a blind spot directly beneath them, so hug the wall and sneak underneath to get inside. You can also throw a chaff grenade to scramble the cameras' signals.

Get the SOCOM!

In the back of the truck, you'll find a SOCOM. Hold down the weapon button while this pistol is equipped to shoot semi-automatic rounds that can lock on to targets.

Refill Rations

The Item Boxes around here contain rations.
Watch for footsteps in the snow to avoid detection from enemy guards.

Find the Goal!

The objective in the heliport area is to slide down one of two ducts at your feet. Get into a crawling position to enter a duct.

Sleeping Soldiers

The guard watching the 1st floor duct occasionally falls asleep while on watch. Be careful about approaching, though—there's a camera over the guard. Try distracting him by making noise elsewhere, but don't get caught, or he will be more vigilant.
