Enemy Alert Levels

Alert Modes

The enemy can be in "infiltration," "noise," "alert," or "evasion" modes.

  • Infiltration Mode
The normal state, when you haven't been found by an enemy, a camera, etc. Enemy soldiers stick to their posts or walk their patrol beats, looking for signs of trouble. Assorted sensors are also set in place, keeping an eye out for intruders. Use your radar to watch the enemy's moves and avoid being spotted. If you make a noise (punching or footsteps) in this mode, the soldiers will leave their posts and go to the source of the noise.
  • Noise Mode
The enemy leaves their patrol route to examine the surroundings. Once they confirm nothing is amiss, they return to their patrol route and go into infiltration mode.
  • Alert Mode
If you are discovered by a guard or sensor, the enemy will switch into this mode. The music changes as the enemy calls for backup and goes on the attack. The radar will display "Alert," along with your remaining life.
  • Evasion Mode
This mode occurs when you are in alert mode and flee to another screen without any enemies. Two enemy pursuers will go around the screen in search of you for a set period of time. The radar will display "Evasion," along with a timer showing how much longer your pursuers will search.
