Dealing with Enemy Soldiers
Enemy Alert Phases
The display in the upper left corner indicates enemy alert status (phases). If spotted by the enemy, they will call for backup to attack on a large scale. Take out enemy soldiers who have found you before they have time to call for backup to prevent them from calling in support.
- NORMAL PHASE
The enemy is unaware of the player's presence. - The player is discovered

ALERT PHASE
The enemy has found the player and is attacking. Take out the enemy or escape from their field of view for the counter to decrease.
- Counter reaches zero

EVASION PHASE
The enemy loses sight of the player and searches for him.
- Counter reaches zero

CAUTION PHASE
The enemy gives up searching, but is still on guard.

Enemy Reactions
If the player hasn't been spotted, enemy soldiers will patrol their assigned areas (patrol route) and check for any unusual activity.
Enemy soldiers can both see and hear you, and if they see or hear anything suspcious, they will leave their patrol route to investigate. If they don't find anything unusual, they will return to their route.
Enemy status is displayed above their heads using icons.
